Power Wheelchair Soccer

BESTPower_wheelchair_soccer_2010_020

Power soccer is a competitive team sport designed and developed specifically for people who use power wheelchairs. Two teams of four players attack, defend and maneuver an oversized soccer ball in an attempt to score points on a goal. This action-packed sport is similar to a typical indoor soccer game. Read a recent article from The Buffalo News on Power Soccer's friendly competition here.

Power soccer has two sessions: Fall and Winter of each year. Players register for practice dates each session. A coach facilitates these practice dates while teaching skills, running drills, and refereeing practice games. Players are encouraged to learn the game in a fun, social environment.

In addition to practices, the team is scheduled for competitions with regional teams when available, including Syracuse and Buffalo. The team wraps up the year with a party and game day.
