JOB DESCRIPTION:

Provides speech-language, cognitive, and swallowing evaluations and treatment to persons referred by physicians and for persons receiving comprehensive outpatient rehabilitation services. Provides environmental and equipment recommendations, consultation and education services in order to optimize the individual’s communication and independence. Teaches job seeking skills to service recipients. Assesses work experience and interests and matches Consumer skill and interest with employment opportunities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology and Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech Pathology from the American Speech/Language and Hearing Association. New York State licensure as a Speech pathologist. Successful completion of the National Teacher Examination in Speech-Language Pathology. Personal characteristics required are commitment to rehabilitation philosophy, good written and interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work effectively with adults of varied age, personality, and background.
