Whether an adult is experiencing tennis elbow or has had a stroke, Outpatient Medical Rehab Services can address all aspects of physical or occupational rehabilitation needs to:
- Reduce pain
- Improve strength
- Gain greater independence in daily life
Outpatient Medical Rehab Services’ therapists work closely with an individual and his/her physician. A plan of treatment is developed after completion of a thorough evaluation and consulting the primary care physician. The goal of Outpatient Services is to help the individual improve his/her quality of life.
Services Provided
- Physical Therapy – restores maximum physical functioning and enables the individual to return to an active life as quickly as possible.
- Occupational Therapy – helps the individual maximize independence and safety in daily living in the areas of self-care, leisure, and work through exercise and compensating training.
- Speech/Language Therapy – helps a person improve swallowing, communication, and cognitive abilities there by building confidence and greater independence.
- Comprehensive Rehabilitation Program – helps an individual regain function after a stroke, head injury, spinal cord injury, and other neuromuscular or orthopedic problems by combining physical, occupational, and speech therapies and social work.
- Massage Therapy – a variety of massage experiences are available for relaxation and as supplemental support to physical or chiropractic therapies.
The Staff
The Outpatient Medical Rehab clinical staff is comprised of New York State licensed therapists who have further developed their clinical expertise through specializing in spinal, orthopedic, lymphedemic, neuro and vestibular conditions. Therapists are trained and experienced in the the following:
