SportsNet Announces Adaptive Sports Expos

SportsNet is pleased to announce that it will hold two Adaptive Sports Expos this Spring. The first is scheduled for Wednesday, March 30 from 11 am to 2 pm . The second Sports Expo is scheduled for Thursday, April 28 from 4:30 pm to 7:00 pm. Both events will be held in the Al Sigl gym at 1000 Elmwood Avenue (enter at door # 1). Guests of all abilities are invited to explore and enjoy this sampling of adaptive sports programs offered by SportsNet during the year.

SportsNet's Adaptive Sports Expos showcase sports such as wheelchair basketball, sled hockey, adapted cycling, outrigger canoeing, golf, and power soccer. Skilled therapeutic recreation therapists and volunteers are on hand to assist guests in basic sports maneuvers, assess their abilities, and guide the use of adaptive sports equipment.

Expos are a great resource for:

  • Occupational therapists
  • Physical therapists
  • Rehabilitation specialists
  • Service coordinators
  • Therapeutic recreation specialists
  • Physical and special education teachers
  • Volunteers and family members
