July 16, 2012
The board of directors of Rochester Rehabilitation has appointed John H. Olsan, MPH to President/CEO effective June 11, 2012 after serving more than two years as the agency’s Director of Mental Health Services.
“John’s 30-plus-year experience in the health and human services fields, in addition to serving on a variety of non-profit boards, makes him uniquely qualified for the position of President/CEO,” says Rochester Rehabilitation board chair Nancy E. Bowes, vice president of corporate banking at First Niagara Bank. “Further, his strategic thinking and results-driven track record speak to his strength as a leader.”
For the past 93 years, Rochester Rehabilitation has helped people lead more active, mobile, and independent lives. Working with a $10 million annual operating budget, the agency serves more than 3,300 people in the Greater Rochester area living with disabilities.
“I’m honored to accept this position,” Olsan said. “As our community continues to feel the effects of the nation's economic distress, there’s an increased need for the rehabilitative services that Rochester Rehabilitation provides. I look forward to doing all I can to help move the agency forward in providing exceptional service to our clients.”
Olsan holds a master's degree in public health administration from Tulane University School of Public Health & Tropical Medicine in New Orleans. He resides in Brighton.
