Physical Therapy Clinic ClosesMay 07, 2012
After 67 years of providing high-quality physical therapy to the Rochester community, the Physical Therapy Clinic at Rochester Rehabilitation will close effective May 31, 2012. The economic downturn, coupled with the New York State Medicaid-imposed cap on physical therapy visits, severely impacted the PT Clinic’s ability to continue to deliver cost-effective services.
New physical therapy referrals are no longer being accepted, according to Cynthia R. Huether, President/CEO. “Our staff is working very hard to ensure current patients are transitioned smoothly to new providers in May.”
“We realize that the decision to close the PT Clinic acutely affects patients who are referred to our warm water therapy pool,” says Nancy Steinkamp, Director of Physical Rehabilitation Services. “However, we will continue to offer gentle water exercise classes through our SportsNet program, which is an option available to patients and healthcare providers.”
