What is a recreation tour?
During the summer, SportsNet offers scheduled recreational outrigger canoe tours. Paddlers can enjoy an outrigger canoe with family and friends while seeing awesome views of Rochester waterways. Depending on your route, you may see the spectacular Rochester city skyline and architecture of Frederick Law Olmstead, or wildlife sightings of kingfishers, egrets, Great Blue Heron, and turtles sunning on submerged logs. Seats are lowered and have backs offering extra support, balance, and stability to all paddlers. If assistance with transfers is needed, a mechanical lift is available on the dock. Tours are open to anyone interested in outrigger canoeing.
Who can paddle?
Any individual or group 6 years of age or older can participate. (children and youth to age 14 must be accompanied by an adult). Reservation required through advanced registration.

- Thursday, August 4 - 6:00 - 7:30 p.m.
- Saturday, August 6 - 10:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
- Friday, August 12 - 6:00 - 7:30 p.m.
- Thursday, August 18 - 6:00 - 7:30 p.m.
- Saturday, August 20 - 10:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
- Friday, August 26 - 6:00-7:30 p.m.
Cost is $15 for 1 tour; $40 for 3 tours and $60 for 6 tours

1. Review the 2011 Outrigger Canoe Program Schedule for dates and times of tours. 2. Complete the SportsNet Registration Form indicating the dates you would like to paddle, include your payment, and return to 1000 Elmwood Ave, Rochester, NY 14620.
Please note: Registration and payment must be received 5 days prior to the trip date. A minimum number of participants is necessary to run a tour. A tour may be rescheduled in order to meet this requirement. Your tour will be confirmed 24 to 48 hours prior to the tour date and time. Tours cancelled due to inclement weather will be given rain dates later in the season.
