Mental Health >> Men’s Education for Non-Violence Workshop
The Men’s Education for Non-Violence Workshop (MEN’s Workshop) is a program for men who have been physically and/or emotionally abusive to their current or former wife, partner, or dating companion.
Participants are encouraged to move from authoritarian relationships that are maintained through the use of controlling and abusive tactics to safe, healthy relationships maintained by respectful, non-threatening and supportive behaviors.
The Workshop curriculum consists of videos, exercises and discussion.
The Workshop operates as a coordinated community effort to end domestic violence and has a strong working relationship with Rochester’s Alternatives for Battered Women, Inc. (ABW) and City, County and Family Courts from Monroe County and surrounding counties. It is also a founding member of the Rochester/Monroe County Domestic Violence Consortium.
The Staff
The MEN’s Workshop staff includes professionals certified in social work, psychology and nursing. All are trained in domestic violence, analysis, and education.
