Outpatient Medical Rehab Services’ physical therapists treat anyone from the injured weekend athlete to the individual with a severe orthopedic or neurological problem.

Physical Therapy services:

• Increases mobility
• Reduces pain
• Improves strength and function
• Improves balance
• Reduces dizziness

Services Provided

Physical Therapy provides services for a variety of programs within Outpatient Medical Rehabilitation:

• Aquatic Therapy - utilizes a warm water therapy pool (94–96 degrees, 29-foot pool) to improve mobility, flexibility, balance, and pain.
  
  
• McKenzie Treatment Approach – is a specialized treatment approach for spinal pain that focuses on self-treatment through awareness of posture, body mechanics, and exercise.
  
  
• Vestibular Therapy- is utilized to reduce dizziness or balance loss caused by an inner ear or central nervous system problem.
  
  
• Treatment of Arthritis – a variety of treatments are offered to help individuals manage the symptoms and limitations of arthritis.
  
  
• Lymphedema - therapists certified in the Vodder technique provide treatment that helps control lymphedema through manual lymph drainage, compression therapy, and other methods.

Services may include:

• Evaluation of physical function, typically "gross function"- gait, stairs, transfers, bed mobility
• Evaluation of adaptive equipment such as canes, walkers, wheelchairs
• Applications of moist heat, cold, ultrasound, and electric stimulation
• Warm water theraputic pool
• Exercise, traction, joint mobilization, biofeedback for muscle retraining
• Gait or mobility training
• Balance and dizziness training
• Training on use of home T.E.N.S. (electric stimulation for pain control)
• Teaching about posture, body mechanics and daily living activities
• Lymphedema Treatment
• Massage Therapy
