Mental Health Services recognizes that people with HIV/AIDS, who must cope with serious physical or emotional problems, have the ability to improve their daily functioning and life satisfaction given a supportive environment and appropriate mental health treatment.
The goals of this program are to:
- Reduce or eliminate the symptoms associated with mental illness
- Reduce emotional stress
- Bolster coping skills
- Help the individual to gain the insight or confidence needed for problem solving and decision making.
Rochester Rehabilitation Center's Mental Health Services has a licensed satellite clinic at AIDS Community Health Center (ACHC).
The Staff
Primary therapists include professionals with advanced training in social work, psychology, family counseling and psychiatry. All staff members have training and experience in working with persons who have HIV/AIDS.
